Welcome Willett

“So, wait, what is the bunny’s name again? She has been Lucky. Luckier. Lucky II.”

“Willett - it is a cross between willow and lettuce. She likes to eat willow and lettuce.”

“Am I spelling that with an “e” on the end to make it feminine or do we care?”

“We don’t care.”

Willett, the bunny born around Easter, has joined the scene and here is what we have learned so far.

Our dog wants to eat her.

The cat is agnostic.

Willett is incredibly soft and warm and loves to snuggle into one’s lap in car trips.

Her quick grows very fast and we are always late to cut her nails.

Moving around her hutch to have her feed on fresh clover is a delightful thing to witness.

She loves fresh grape leaves. Thank goodness we have so many grape leaves.

She is virtually indistinguishable from the many bunnies that nibble on plants all around us - except her ears are longer with dark tips.

A fact that came in very useful on the red letter day where she escaped and Bean and Dragon were able to “pincer move” her very carefully and catch her again. Whew. My mantra that whole day was, “Thank goodness you caught the bunny.”

… Because the first bunny, Lucky, was killed by the dog.

Welcome Willett for however long we have you. You are a delight of snuggliness.
