ACIM Review V vs the media frenzy in my head

This morning we were on our walk and I was sharing an article I read to W. The article is about the American scientists who have graduated from the CDC Epidemic Intelligent Service and the role these experts have played (or not) in our recent societal adventure. For weeks we have been discussing where the leaders are on what has been happening, what the plan is, how crazy this all is (here is my favorite take on that particular rabbit hole). Then I dip into some theories about the Gates Foundation, the WHO, microchipping, and mandatory vaccines. The frenzy in my head gets louder and louder - then I read my ACIM for today.

And Holy Balooney - not surprisingly, it is bang on and right what I need to hear. Here we go, my re-centering for today, A Course in Miracles, Review V… some highlights:

Steady our feet, our Father. Let our doubts be quiet and our holy minds be still, and speak to us. We have no words to give to You. We would but listen to Your Word, and make it ours. Lead our practicing as does a father lead a little child along a way he does not understand. Yet does he follow, sure that he is safe because his father leads the way for him.

So do we bring our practicing to You. And if we stumble, You will raise us up. If we forget the way, we count upon Your sure remember­ing. We wander off, but You will not forget to call us back. Quicken our footsteps now, that we may walk more certainly and quickly unto You. And we accept the Word You offer us to unify our practicing, as we review the thoughts that You have given us.

God is but Love, and therefore so am I.

All things are echoes of the Voice of God.

The power of decision is my own.

Okay okay, “let our doubts be quiet and let our holy minds be still.” That is straightforward… good. Brain, be quiet, it is all noise, I know how to do this from years of shutting down the cancer opera.

Next part, “lead our our practicing” like a parent leads a child - that certainly feels to me like we are being led somewhere at this time - I can take a breathe and surrender to that.

Let us assume what is going on is deliberate - a Cosmic two by four from the Divine that has hit the world. (Rob Wergin’s phrase not mine.) After all, ACIM tells us (and I know this too from my own crazy experience two years ago yesterday on this) that “God is but love, and therefore so am I.” As such, it is an energy of love and hope that is creating such chaos and turmoil.

That image and idea I am okay with because anytime I clean or organize anything there is always a sense of extreme disarray before the new order arrives. I mopped the floor of the mudroom closet this week and found a freaking mouse as I unearthed dustballs from my winter boots. I am looking forward to our next cold day to switch my sweaters/teeshirts in the closet and it will start with throwing all of my clothing on the bed to refold/examine/ponder before putting back into the new summer spaces. (methinks a tip I learned from Ms Marie Kondo).

How about, “we wander off, but You will not forget to call us back.” That to me is the crux of all of this because there is a sense of being called back to a path of Love. The power of decision is my own to listen to the Voices of God all around me. As God is Love than that would mean listening to only those voices that speak of kindness, compassion, patience, healing, hope, joy, happiness - those are the markers to follow. This is a hard core opportunity to practice not feeding the what if monster, the fear monster, the panic monster, the overwhelm monster… Now is the time to dig deep and be kind, to ourselves, to others, to all. To be joyful, for ourselves and for others. To be patient with ourselves and for others. Crack jokes, laugh and find joy. Find the helpers and to model such in our circles of interaction.

Remember, we are “safe because [our] father leads the way” - even we don’t know our destination the light of Love leads the way. Let God hold our hands and guide our steps. I was making jokes a few months ago about the collective global nervous breakdown… BEFORE this happened. We are stronger and can handle more than we know.
